FDA Rejects Vioxx Successor
The FDA rejected Merck & Co.'s request to market a successor to its withdrawn arthritis drug Vioxx, the drugmaker said. The move was widely expected, after a panel of FDA advisors voted against approving Arcoxia by a 20-1 vote.
