Another Vioxx jury sides with Merck

New Jersey pharmaceutical giant Merck & Co. persuaded a New Orleans federal court jury Wednesday that Vioxx, a painkiller it took off the market two years ago after studies linked it to heart attacks and strokes, did not cause the 2003 heart attack of a Tennessee man who had taken the medicine for six months for arthritis pain.
